Membership FAQ
How do I get my Real Estate License??
The first step in getting a real estate license is to contact the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC). Visit the TREC website to find out more about the process.
If I just passed the Real Estate test, can I join the Association?
Yes, you can join GTAR if you are currently sponsored by a Broker and have documents supporting proof of sponsorship. In addition, your sponsorship documents should have also been sent to TREC, or the TREC website should show you hold an active license with your sponsor.
How do I become an Affiliate Member of the Association?
The benefits of being an Affiliate member have never been better! Becoming a member is easy, and we provide you with the tools and opportunities you need to successfully market and provide services to area REALTORS® and their clients. You can apply by completing and sending in the application on our Membership page and our Director of Member Services will contact you with the next steps to join. Once you join, you will start receiving notifications about upcoming GTAR meetings and events, along with several other benefits.
How do I get involved in a GTAR Committee (s)?
We treasure our committee volunteers and we encourage you to get involved in any way possible. Please visit our Get Involved page to learn more about each committee and to fill out a form to become involved.
How do I get a Supra Lock Box?
For your initial Lock Box setup, please call the association for an appointment with Member Services. Once in our system, you may check out Lock Boxes for as many active listings as you currently have on the market. Unlike other associations, we do not charge members for Lock Boxes but loan them out as a member service. We ask that you return your Lock Box to the association no later than three days after closing.

Billing & Dues FAQ
How much are dues?
The dues you pay are based on your level of membership with our Association–Designated REALTOR®, Non-Designated REALTOR® or Affiliate. Visit our Membership page to determine what your specific dues will be.
I have an automatic payment authorization on file. Why are my dues not paid?
Your Local GTAR, State and National dues cannot be paid by automatic draft because it contains an optional TREPAC contribution that we cannot presume you want to make.
What can be paid with my Automatic Payment Authorization and when will my card be charged?
Depending on your membership level, your payment schedule will look something like this:
Due Date:
January 1 Annual National and State Dues + optional TREPAC contribution
Annual SUPRA fees (can be paid with auto draft)
1st Quarter MLS fees (can be paid with auto draft)
April 1 2nd Quarter MLS fees (can be paid with auto draft)
July 1 Annual GTAR Local Dues + optional TREPAC contribution
3rd Quarter MLS fees (can be paid with auto draft)
October 1 4th Quarter MLS fees (can be paid with auto draft)
If you are enrolled for auto-draft, it is for the MLS fees and SUPRA fees only. You can expect in December and June that your Annual Dues will need to be paid manually on or before the 1st of the following month.
I did not receive an email notice for my dues.
Please call and verify the email address we have on file. Make sure it is not in your spam folder.
