Membership Dues and Fees FAQ
How are Members notified of their annual REALTOR@ dues, Affiliate dues, Supra Fees and Quarterly MLS and/or CIE Fees?
Orders will be posted on your GTAR Member Portal and you will receive an automated email letting you know your order has been posted and is available to pay online.
You will also receive reminder email communications in advance of any late charge to be imposed to your outstanding order.
Reminders are also available in the GTAR newsletter, GTAR Members Only Facebook page and posted on the Home Message Page of Paragon MLS. **Coming Soon - Notifications will be available on the upcoming GTAR Dashboard.
When are dues and fees due without penalty?
Your orders are payable upon receipt but must be paid by the 1st day of the following month. Late charges are typically imposed on the 1st business day following the billing notice month.
Is there a late fee?
Quarterly MLS/CIE/Admin Late fees are $75.
Annual Dues, Supra Late Fees are $25 with the 1st past due notice and $50 with the second notice.
What happens if I don't pay my orders at the end of the 2nd month following the original posted date?
Your MLS and Supra Access will be suspended for any non-payment of dues or fees. You can log into your GTAR Member Portal to pay your account balance and your MLS and Supra Services will be reactivated up to the next business day.
Can my dues or fees be waived or prorated if my services have been suspended?
Reinstating accounts or reactivation of MLS Subscriptions are not eligible for any proration or waiver of membership and/or subscription fees.
Can I set up a payment plan for my annual dues?
No, GTAR only accepts single payments for your payable invoices.
What is the NAR Image fee? Do I have to pay this fee?
The NAR Image Assessment Fee funds the NAR IMAGE Campaign, That's Who We R" which includes TV and radio adds promoting the use of a REALTOR® in the purchase of a home.
Yes, the National Association of REALTORS® requires each association member to pay this fee.
Am I required to belong to Texas REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®?
Yes, as a REALTOR® member, you are required to maintain membership in all three Associations: National (NAR), State (TR), and Local (GTAR). These memberships are mandatory, and all members must follow the current membership rules in place. Click for additional information on the NAR Policy Three-way Agreement
Can I make a partial payment?
No, all dues must be paid in full at one time.
Is a credit card the only form of payment that GTAR accepts for dues and fees?
GTAR's preferred form of payment is a credit card through the GTAR Member Portal. If you are unable to use a credit card, please email accounting@gtar.com to make alternate arrangements or call the office at 903-561-8403 and someone can assist you.
Can I split my payment on more than one credit card?
No, you may only use one card to make a payment.
Can I get a refund on my GTAR Membership, GTAR MLS Subscription, or Supra KEY subscription fees?
No.
All NAR, TR, Local dues, GTARMLS subscription fees, and Sura Key Subscription fees are non-refundable.
I cannot remember if I paid my dues - where can I look?
Members can sign into their GTAR Member Portal account.
What should I do if I don't remember my GTAR Member Portal sign-on?
If you do not remember your "Username" and/or Password, email membership@gtar.com or call the office at 903-561-8403 and someone will assist you.
How does a Broker handle payment if they choose to pay an agent's dues?
Brokers can pay agent fees by signing onto their GTAR Member Portal, scroll down the page to: Pay Agent Orders
What are the requirements for maintaining a REALTOR® membership?
Licensure - A member must continue to maintain an active Texas Real Estate license. If your license becomes inactive or expires, your membership is required to be inactivated.
Affiliation - A licensed agent must affiliate their license with a Designated REALTOR® of an office that belongs to the Greater Tyler Association of REALTORS® (GTAR). If the Designated REALTOR® does not belong to GTAR, he/she has to opt to join the association or the licensed agent must consider joining the local association the Designated REALTOR® already belongs.
Dues - A member must remit their annual dues payments to GTAR for their local, state, and national dues. If a member fails to remit payment and is still actively licensed in a primary REALTOR® office, then the Association is required to bill the broker/manager for the licensee as a non-member.
Education - A member must complete the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics and Fair Housing Training requirements every three years (current deadline is December 31st, 2027) Please submit your certificates to GTAR for review and recording as we are not automatically notified when a member completes these classes.
Do I have to pay an application fee if I'm a returning GTAR Association member of GTAR MLS Subscriber?
If your GTAR Association or GTARMLS subscription services have been inactive over a year, you will be required to pay a new application fee and/or an MLS Participation Fee.
Suppose you are returning within a year timeframe. In that case, you will be required to pay a Reinstatement Fee for Association membership and/or a reactivation fee for MLS Subscription, as well as any outstanding invoices and late fees from your previous subscription.
